Nic Jones LL.B (Penzance)

Nic qualified as a solicitor in 1981 after taking a law degree as a mature student following a selection of previous jobs such as farm work, HGV driving and working in an aluminium factory. Formerly a partner at Borlase & Venning he is now one of the Directors of Cornish Venning.

Nic specialises in Property Law being head of that department in the practice and having dealt with property work throughout his 26 years as a solicitor. The Department covers property development, commercial and domestic transactions for both freehold and leasehold properties and Landlord and Tenant Law and all property related matters.

Nic is fluent in French and occasionally liaises with French agents and notaries for people buying properties in France or French speaking countries

In his spare time he is involved with the St Buryan Agricultural Society and St Buryan Twinning Association, as well as being a self confessed “anorak” as far as old Land Rovers and tractors are concerned. Finally he enjoys foreign travel – the more often the better

Mostyn Evans (Penzance)

Mostyn qualified as a solicitor in 1984, and has practised in Penzance throughout his career.  He was a partner in Cornish and Birtill and is a director of Cornish Venning Limited.  Mostyn is an experienced advocate, having started in criminal law, moving on to family law, General civil litigation including medical negligence and personal injury, employment disputes and mental health law.

Mostyn currently supervises the litigation department of Cornish Venning Limited, and carries a full caseload of disputes encompassing a wide range of matters.  These include employment disputes, personal injury, and commercial disputes. He is a member of the Children Panel and of the Mental Health Review Tribunal Panel, and has been for many years.

When not working, Mostyn also plays hard.  He holds a second degree black belt in karate, and will shortly be attempting to obtain his third degree.  He is also a keen dinghy sailor, competing in Open meetings on a regular basis in the RS800 fleet.

David Lush LL.B (Hayle)

David qualified as a solicitor in 1972 after taking a law degree, and began working at the Hayle office of T J Chellew & Son a year later, where he continues now to be based as one of the directors of Cornish Venning Chellews.

David has acquired wide-ranging experience in a number of areas of law including residential property, commercial property (with particular emphasis on commercial leases), wills, probate and succession and some charity law work.

Away from the office, he is kept busy with four generations of family life as well as involvement with a local church and in supporting a number of Christian para-church organisations.

David Lush

John Dunstan (St. Ives)

John was born and brought up in Chile. He qualified as a solicitor in 1974.

He started training as a solicitor in Cornwall and moved to London to complete his training. Once qualified he practised as a solicitor before moving to Cornwall to work in Camborne, where he remained for a number of years before joining Chellews in 1978.

John is an experienced solicitor having started in general civil litigation, including personal injury, employment disputes, landlord and tenant, family law and criminal law. He has in latter years dealt with property work and commercial work.

John has managed and supervised the St Ives office for a number of years and carries a full caseload of disputes covering a wide range of matters.

When not in the office John is a trustee of the Royal Cornwall Museum, The Clowance Trust and Camborne Rugby Club. When he has time he enjoys pursuing his interests in landscape photography and walking.

Tony Sheridan

Tony Sheridan (Penzance)

Tony moved to Penzance with his Cornish born wife Lizzie several years ago after a 25+ year career in industry, the last 10 years of which he was employed as a General Manager and later Director of a multinational telecommunications and IT company.

He has subsequently studied for and received a law degree and is currently a trainee solicitor with CVC. He has over five years experience as an advisor with Citizens Advice and has recently been employed by Kerrier District CAB on a short-time contract as an Employment Law Caseworker on a Legal Services Commission contract .

Outside of work, Tony is an independent Board Member of Penwith Housing Association, a director of Penwith Credit Union and a member of Citizens Advice Regional Committee.

Tony enjoys watching local rugby especially Mounts Bay and the Cornish Pirates and makes the occasional cross Tamar trip to see Plymouth Argyle.
